Agilisium, a company that fast-tracks innovation across the pharma value chain, is preparing to create 2,000 jobs in Hyderabad over the next three years. The data innovation partner for the life sciences industry is establishing a Life Sciences Innovation and Talent Development Lab in the city.
This is the company’s way of investing in infrastructure and in the process contributing to an ecosystem that will facilitate the amalgamation of academia, global best practices and research.
The lab will help speed up talent development and help transfer of technology to come up with next-gen solutions at a faster pace and with more efficiency.
Raj Babu, founder and CEO, Agilisium reportedly hopes that the lab will contribute to Telangana’s efforts to become a global hub for life sciences.
The lab is aimed at narrowing the gap between what the industry wants and what is on offer in terms of talent and academics. The objective is also to fuel research, develop talent and ensure technological advancements.
The fact that Agilisium is expanding in Hyderabad proves that Telangana is increasingly drawing global capacity centres in the field of biotechnology and life sciences too.
In January 2024, Tata Technologies had revealed plans to set up 4.0 Skilling Centres in Telanga, to provide skill-development training to students. These Industry 4.0 technology centres—which will offer job-oriented training—were being set up at a cost of about Rs 1,500 crore.
In April last year, Polmor Steel, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Polish company Polmor had also announced expansion plans that were to create at least a hundred more jobs, and thus, contribute to the Make In India mission.
