To further aid India’s path to energy security, affordability and sustainability, Cairn Oil & Gas, owned by Vedanta, has hired several technical experts from across the world, and plans to hire at least a dozen more by October 2024.
Not only is the energy demand in India increasing, but the country is fast turning into a major player in the global energy space.
This diverse group of experts backed by rich experience will help drive Cairn’s growth plans. The recent hires include Andrew McIntosh, chief commercial officer, Rodney Smith, general counsel, Sam Algar, chief – exploration, Martijn Wisselink, head – deepwater development and Penny Taylor, senior geophysicist. The company has onboarded experts—from some of the top-ranking oil and gas firms across the globe—in the fields of deepwater drilling, petroleum engineering, exploration, geophysics and geology to support its aggressive drilling and development plans.
Other experts who are part of this diverse talent pool are, Michael German, who has joined as head-reservoir engineering, Alexander Badri, who has joined as development manager-tight oil and gas, shale, and CBM, Milan Stevanovic, as geomodelling expert, Noor Talib, as stimulation expert, Jose E Bernedo, as artificial lift expert and Alan Williams, as head-operations, geologist.
The Indian private E&P company is running one of the largest exploration campaigns in the country. By harnessing the best global minds, the company hopes to enable India to progress towards a more proactive and forward-thinking approach to E&P, with the integration of technological innovation and digital transformation.
