After over seven years of association with IDFC First Bank, Pankaj Singh has reached the position of chief human resources officer (CHRO).
He had joined the bank as head HR-retail assets in July of 2019. In less than three years, he received his first promotion, which made him head of HR-retail banking, customer experience and operations in April of 2022.
An alumnus of Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Singh began his professional journey with Standard Chartered Bank as an HR executive, in May of 2002. In just over two years, he was promoted to performance management-branch banking. Another promotion in 2006 made him senior officer-operational risk. By the time he moved on from Standard Chartered in 2010, he had reached the position of regional HR manager.
Pankaj Singh’s next stop was Royal Bank of Scotland where he served as manager-human resources for a year before joining Capital First.
He entered Capital First as head of employee engagement and HRBP. Over two years into this role, he was elevated to head of talent management, in October of 2013.
The year 2017 saw him take up the role of head-HR at Indiabulls Consumer Finance. He stayed put for almost two years before beginning his association with IDFC First Bank in July of 2019.
This recent elevation to CHRO is a recognition of his role in the bank’s people strategy and growth. He will be tasked with heading the HR function on the whole, including employee experience, talent strategy and leadership development, among other responsibilities.
HRKatha congratulates Pankaj Singh on this elevation and wishes him all the best!
