As part of its ambitious expansion plan, Sanofi announced to expand operations and more than double the workforce over the next two years. The company plans to invest €400 million ($437.24 million) in its Global Capacity Centre (GCC) in Hyderabad, India, by the end of the decade.
The Hyderabad GCC, already Sanofi’s largest globally, with 1,000 employees, is set to increase its staff to 2,600 by 2026. This expansion will include hiring data scientists and data engineers to enhance the digital team and leverage artificial intelligence tools.
Sanofi will initially invest €100 million ($109.31 million) by next year.
It operates GCCs in Budapest, Malaysia and Colombia as well.
