With the Telangana government lifting the ban imposed on transfers for two weeks, the process of transfers will have to be completed by the heads of departments between 5 and 20 July 2024. Come 21 July, and the ban will be back.

The State government has ordered the heads of concerned departments to prepare all required details including vacancies and the list of employees to be mandatorily transferred between 5 and 8 July, 2024. The employees will be required to submit their applications with options between 9 and 12 July, 2024. The task of verifying the applications and preparing the master list post counseling will have to be concluded between 13 and 18 July, 2024.

On 19 and 20 July, the transfer orders will be issued, with the concerned employees being considered relieved from their previous location after three days of issue of transfer orders. Telangana government employees who have not served at least two years in a particular location as on 30 June, 2024, cannot be transferred. This condition, however, can be relaxed if the spouses are transferred.

Employees who have completed four years in a particular location as on 30 June, cannot be retained at the present location. Those who are superannuating before 30 June, 2025, cannot be transferred even after four years of service, unless they specifically seek a transfer.

Another condition is that the number of transfers should not exceed 40 per cent of employees in any cadre.

If more than one employee has sought transfer to a particular place, priority will be given in the order agreed/set, provided other conditions are fulfilled and the concerned employee is not embroiled in any criminal cases or departmental proceedings.
