The Karnataka State Government Employees’ Association has unveiled a three-phase plan to intensify its protests. The protests aim to address three key demands: revised pay, continuation of a health scheme and the reinstatement of the old pension scheme.
At a meeting on Sunday, 7 July, the association emphasised the urgent need for the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission recommendations, the continuation of the Karnataka Arogya Sanjeevini health scheme, and the replacement of the National Pension System (NPS) with the Old Pension Scheme (OPS).
The association stated that the government’s inaction on critical issues has compelled them to intensify the protest. Starting 8 July, the association members will present memorandums to district ministers, deputy commissioners and tahsildars across the state, demanding a fair wage revision.
Furthermore, the association warned that the protests will escalate during the July 16-26 legislature session if the government fails to meet their demands by then.
The Karnataka Government Employees’ Association remains steadfast in their demands, preparing to escalate their protest until their calls for revised pay, health benefits and pension reforms are addressed.
