eBay is carrying out another round of layoffs, with reports suggesting close to 800 employees are being let go. While the company has not issued an official statement, many workers have shared their experiences on professional networking sites, confirming the cuts.

Posts from employees in Oregon, Utah, Texas, and California show that the impact is spread across multiple regions and functions.
TheLayoff, a workplace discussion platform, indicates that the job reductions are being announced this week and could account for roughly 6 per cent of eBay’s global staff. The company has not disclosed which teams are affected or the reasons behind the move, but online discussions suggest that several divisions are involved. Some employees believe responsibilities are being shifted to lower-cost international locations such as India and Ireland, though this has not been formally confirmed.

Workers who lost their jobs have spoken about their experiences online, reflecting on long careers and contributions at eBay. Many expressed gratitude for their time at the company, while also sharing the challenges of moving forward.

This round of layoffs appears consistent with eBay’s earlier signals about expanding in cost-effective regions while scaling back in others. The company has also been reshaping its operations by using artificial intelligence more extensively, particularly in customer service and support functions.

The latest cuts highlight the ongoing restructuring at eBay, where workforce reductions are becoming a recurring strategy. With hundreds of employees affected across the United States and roles reportedly moving abroad, the company’s focus seems to be on lowering costs and increasing efficiency, even as it invests in new technologies to streamline its business.
