Jindal Stainless has kicked off the second batch of its fully-sponsored two-year MTech programme in steel technology. The programme is in collaboration with the esteemed Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay.
This unique collaboration is expected to enhance efficiencies across all levels of the manufacturing process and inspire innovative ideas for optimising the quality-cost-emissions mix.
The programme is designed to deepen employees’ knowledge in iron and steel-making technology, keeping participants updated with the latest industry innovations. Eligibility for the course requires a minimum of three years at Jindal Stainless or its subsidiaries, a BTech degree in mechanical or metallurgy with at least 60 per cent aggregate, and a record of consistent high performance.
This initiative reflects the company’s commitment to enhancing employee expertise and maintaining a competitive edge in sustainable, world-class steel solutions.
Employees from the first batch are currently working on their thesis projects, with a total of 11 employees enrolled in both batches. Upon completing the course, employees will be considered for job rotations to apply their research findings and new skills effectively.
According to Abhyuday Jindal, MD, Jindal Stainless,  “This initiative aligns with our company’s long-term vision of producing highly-skilled professionals with specialised knowledge in predicting, and staying ahead of market trends.”
Sushil Baveja, CHRO, Jindal Stainless, shares, “By supporting this initiative, we aim to cultivate an environment where continuous learning and professional growth are prioritised, paving the way for future successes. All the employees in this course will be presented with unique opportunities to leverage their acumen in the field of manufacturing and technology.”
Through the Stainless Academy initiative, the company promotes continuous learning, offering stainless steel as an elective course in government polytechnic colleges in Odisha and Haryana, and integrating it into metallurgy courses at premier engineering institutes, including several IITs and the National Institute of Technology, Trichy.
