OpenAI plans to more than triple the size of its European headquarters in Dublin, expanding its workforce to around 350 employees as it strengthens its presence in the region. The ChatGPT maker announced that it has leased 8,000 square metres (88,000 square feet) of office space in Dublin’s Silicon Docks area to support its growth plans.

The company currently employs more than 100 people at its Dublin office, which opened in 2023. Over the next two years, it plans to hire 250 additional employees across engineering and support operations, taking the total headcount to approximately 350.

The expansion reflects OpenAI’s continued investment in Europe as demand for artificial intelligence technologies grows. The larger office space is expected to accommodate the company’s expanding workforce and support its product development, customer operations and regional business functions.

Dublin has emerged as a major European technology hub, hosting the regional headquarters of several global technology companies. OpenAI’s expansion further strengthens the city’s position as a key centre for AI talent and innovation.

The hiring drive comes as OpenAI continues to scale its global operations amid rapid adoption of generative AI by businesses and consumers. The company has been expanding its international footprint to support growing demand for its products while investing in engineering capabilities and customer support across key markets.
