McDonald’s, the global fast-food chain will set up its global office in India, in the city of Hyderabad. This will also lead to development of the community as most of the agricultural products required for the outlets would be sourced from the local farmers. Therefore, opening of this global office will result in the growth of the agricultural economy of Telangana too in addition to providing employment to many.

It is reported that Chris Kempczinski, chairman, McDonald’s believes it is Hyderabad’s infrastructure, its ace-quality talent pool and high standard of living that made the city the ideal choice for the company’s global office. In fact, it was preferred over other cities such as Bengaluru.

An agreement to this effect was signed at a recent meeting in the presence of Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and Kempczinski.

While initially the office will have 2,000 employees, the team size is expected to grow with time.

Reddy highlighted Telangana’s capital infusion into various skilling initiatives over the past year and a half and encouraged McDonald’s to take advantage of the Young India Skills University to source trained youngsters for not just their office in Hyderabad but for their outlets across the country.

Telangana has 38 McDonald’s outlets presently and the company expects to add at least three outlets every year, covering even the smaller tier-2 and 3 cities.

McDonald’s is already running various programmes to develop communities in the locations it operates in. It is reportedly keen to conduct such programmes in Telangana too.
