After serving WayCool Foods as chief people officer for over three and a half years, Alex Augustine has joined CMS IT Services as chief people officer (CPO).

Augustine spent four initial years of his professional journey with Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces, as HR manager, working in Mumbai, Chennai and Kochi.

He then moved to AVT McCormick Ingredients as senior manager, human resources, in 1996. Working out of Kochi, he successfully led the Greenfield JV project, establishing a 500-employee core workforce and managing 2,000+ contract staff, ensuring seamless operations from inception. Five years later, he joined Ingram Micro, as director-human resources (India & SAARC).

For nine years, he drove HR transformation at Ingram, working out of Chennai and Mumbai.

February of 2010 saw him take up the role of senior vice president and head-human resources, CMS Info Systems. For the next six and a half years or so he managed 24,000+ employees across 250+ offices, leading a high-impact HR transformation journey that aligned talent strategy with business scalability.

The year 2016 was witness to Alex Augustine playing chief people and culture officer, ISS Facility Services India, working out of Mumbai.

Over five years later, in October 2021, Augustine moved to WayCool Foods as CPO and head of the distribution business.

Now, he is back with CMS to lead the people & vulture agenda as part of CMS 2.0 — a bold transformation backed by Florintree Advisors.

In his new assignment, he will focus on repositioning HR as a business-critical lever across profitability, capability and cultural renewal. HRKatha wishes him all the best in this endeavour.
