    Apollo Tyres hires Dipankar Ghosh as group head – HR

    Apollo Tyres, the Indian multinational tyre manufacturing firm has roped in Dipankar Ghosh as the group head-HR. He joins Apollo from Bajaj Consumer Care, where he was the CHRO of the Indian consumer goods company, responsible for driving strategic HR initiatives that enabled the overall business plan of the company. Ghosh worked in areas such as talent management, leadership development, organisational design, employee experience and change management.

    Talking to HRKatha, Ghosh confirms that as the group head-HR, he will lead the end-to-end HR function for the Company’s Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa (APMEA) region. He will be responsible for the Company’s 15000+ workforce across functions, such as sales, commercial and manufacturing.

    “Attracting and retaining good talent would be one of the key focus areas for me in this role,” says Ghosh, in addition to digitisation of HR processes.

    With close to 25 years of experience under his belt, Ghosh has worked with brands such as Tata Motors and DIAGEO.

    In the initial phase of his career, Ghosh spent more than eight years with Kolkata Port Trust as personnel manager. Moving on, he also spent another two years at MECON, a government-owned engineering consultancy solution provider as senior manager – personnel.

    In 2007, Ghosh decided to join Tata Motors as senior manager – talent acquisition, heading the talent acquisition activities at the Company’s Jamshedpur plant. Ghosh went on to spend more than six years at Tata Motors going up the ranks in the company. His last position at Tata Motors was that of head – HR for supply and quality, where he was responsible for heading the corporate HR for quality and supply chain.

    Ghosh also spent close to five years at DIAGEO India, where he partnered with the CXOs for multiple business and HR-transformation initiatives for India and Emerging Markets Business.
