ANJ Group has chosen Dr Ashfaq Ul Ahad to lead their people and culture agenda, as chief people officer (CPO). Ahad has moved to the Indian integrated design and build firm from Delhivery, where he was vice president.
Ashfaq Ahad brings over two decades of experience to the table, having begun his professional journey as regional manager-HR, with ICICI, in 2001.
Three years later, he moved to GE as HRLP and was part of GE’s Global Leadership Programme. His next stop was Syntel where he played group head, HR-KPO Syntel Inc. from 2005 to 2010.
He joined Hutchison 3G as VP-HR in May of 2010 and switched to People Edge Management in May of 2011, as managing director.
An alumnus of Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Ashfaq Ahad has completed a PhD in Management Education.
He co-founded Fazlani Academy of Business Sciences in August 2012 and was a member of the board for almost eight years.
June of 2020 saw Ashfaq Ahad associated with TalentEdge as co-founder and business head-TalentEdge Academy, which was acquired by upGrad.
In April of 2022 he co-founded CollegeDekho and played business head-CLD Academy. For the next two years and nine months, he helped build the upskilling ecosystem for CLD, before joining Delhivery in January, 2025.
As per Ashfaq Ashfaq, “ANJ’s manufacturing prowess and customer centricity, coupled with a people-first culture are all poised to move it from a challenger quadrant to a leader”. He is tasked with making this happen “while creating meaningful impact for our customers, employees and communities alike.”
It will be Ashfaq Ahad’s responsibility to steer the company’s people and culture agenda with a focus on nurturing leadership, strengthening employee engagement, driving organisational transformation and fostering a workplace that inspires creativity and innovation.
