    Ashish Kumar to essay the role of VP & CHRO, Jindal Power

    He moves from Vedanta where his association lasted over six years, with his last role as that of CHRO-mines (bauxite & coal), project leader-group HRMS digital transformation

    Jindal Power has roped in Ashish Kumar for the role of vice president and chief human resource officer.

    An alumnus of Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), Kumar spent the first eight years of his career as engineer and associate manager, with Hindustan Zinc.

    In April of 2012, he became manager (technology development), Hindustan Zinc (Vedanta), working out of Udaipur. For the next five years, he developed the technology roadmap, and looked into project scoping, process design and development, process commercialisation, commissioning assistance, technical services and operations at the company. In April, 2017, he was elevated to head-extractive metallurgy research and AGM (tech services), handling quality assurance for commodity items among other responsibilities.

    August of 2018 saw him taking up the role of chief people officer, Odisha Bauxite, at Vedanta. A year and a half later, he was elevated to chief human resource officer-Odisha Bauxite. July of 2021 was witness to another promotion, which added the responsibility of being project leader-group HRMS digital transformation to Kumar’s role. By November 2021, he had become the CHRO – mines (bauxite & coal) | project leader – group HRMS digital transformation.

    His primary focus at Jindal Power will be orgaisation development in line with business growth. He will also work to enhance the employee-centric approach and workplace culture of the firm for “both personal and professional magnification”.

    Known for his sincerity and detail-oriented approach, Kumar says in his social-media post, “It is with great enthusiasm that I step into this role, and I am eager to explore and deliver in the organisation.”

      Jindal Group is great organisation to work for as it had grown by leaps and bounds under able leadership of Sh Naveen ji.
