Zolostays has appointed Chanchal Gupta as its chief human resources officer (CHRO). Backed by 15 years of experience, Gupta has lead the HR function for big names, such as Amazon, Accenture Services and Citibank. After a successful eight-year long stint at Amazon, in his new role at Zolostays, Gupta will be responsible for the co-living company’s people management, employee engagement, retention, training and development, talent acquisition, organisational effectiveness, diversity and inclusion as well as succession planning.
Gupta joined Amazon in 2012, as senior manager, HR services & compliances-India, a post he held for more than four years. In 2016, he became senior manager, human resources, and within nine months took on the position of senior manager, employee relations.
Before Amazon, he worked for Accenture as the HR lead for banking. There, he was responsible for working closely with business leaders to ensure employee engagement, retention, development and management. Gupta has also spent over five years at Citigroup Global Services, where he worked as senior manager from March, 2005 to August, 2010.
An alumnus of XLRI, Jamshedpur, Gupta also holds an engineering degree in electronics and communication from the Malviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur.
Zolostays presently operates 450+ properties across India, in Bengaluru, Chennai, Kota, Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Coimbatore, Pune, Gurugram, Noida and Hyderabad. The Company, which caters mainly to students and young professionals, has 45,000 live beds.
