Trellix, a cybersecurity firm that specialises in extended detection and response (XDR), has named Mahipal Nair as managing director of Trellix India.

Nair, who previously served as vice president and head of human resources for India and APJ, will now be responsible for overseeing Trellix’s operations in India.

Nair’s extensive experience in managing people, processes, and business operations makes him an excellent fit for his new role. He has been with Trellix since June 2022.

Nair plans to continue promoting Trellix’s ‘Soulful Work’ culture, which emphasises employee well-being and satisfaction, and to lead the team in keeping up with the latest advancements in XDR technology.

Aparna Rayasam, chief product officer, Trellix, expressed confidence in Nair’s ability to nurture the best talent and strengthen the company’s presence in India.

Nair began his career as a program coordinator at IIHMR University in 1994 before moving on to become the leader of human resources at Infozech Software in 1999. In 2000, he joined Malayala Manorama as deputy manager of HR, where he was able to establish HR for the Group’s subsidiary company, MM TV and FM Radio stations, during his seven-year tenure.

Nair spent a significant portion of his career at NielsenIQ, where he started in 2006 as the HRBP for the commercial sector in South Asia. He was then promoted to executive director of HR for the Middle East, North Africa, and Pakistan in just two and a half years, and he worked out of Dubai for over four years. In 2013, he was promoted to CHRO for Africa and the Middle East, and three years later, he became the CHRO for South Asia, based in Mumbai. By June 2020, he was leading a team of over 75 HR professionals across 20 markets in the region as the CHRO for South Asia, Africa, and the Middle East at NielsenIQ.

Nair’s experience and skills lie in combining the internal talent of organisations with external client-centricity to deliver business results. He is dedicated to developing individuals and teams by attending to their well-being, motivation, and growth, both professionally and personally.

With a postgraduate degree in human resources from the University of Allahabad, Nair will be an asset to Trellix as managing director of Trellix India.
