Shalimar Corp has appointed Divya Jain Uppal as vice president-human resources and administration.

Uppal comes with over two decades of experience, having begun her professional journey as manager-human resource development, Hero MotoCorp, in 1999. For over 15 years she successfully managed employee engagement, learning and development, talent acquisition, employee induction and so on.

In May of 2014, she was promoted to the position of regional human resources business partner-North zone. She was responsible for end to end process for employee life cycle and business partnering for the next six years. She was promoted yet again, in May of 2020. She became regional human resources business partner-Central and East zone.

For three years she handled the HR function for East Zone (West Bengal, Orissa, Bihar, ANE and Jharkhand) and Central zone (Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh). During this tenure she gained expertise in collaborating with business unit heads and engaging with leadership for decision-making; determining HR framework to meet both short & long-term business goals. Among other things, she handled the entire employee life cycle for over 300 employees on roll and over 275 contractual employees. She also provided frontline support to people managers to drive HR initiatives.

After over 24 years with Hero MotoCorp, Divya Jain Uppal joined MKU as general manager-human resources before taking a break to look after the family.

HRKatha wishes Divya Jain Uppal all the best for her latest assignment as vice president-HR and administration.
