Greaves Cotton has appointed Ramachandra Puttanna as the new business head for EV solutions and new businesses within Greaves Retail. He moves from ZF Group, where he was vice president-aftermarket and fleet solutions, India and SAARC region, since 2022.
An alumnus of Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, Puttanna is backed by over three decades of experience. He began his professional journey with Fenner India, as area manager, in 1989. Five years later, he moved to Bosch India Automotive as country manager. His tenure at Bosch lasted over 13 years.
In November of 2007, he was appointed divisional head-sales and marketing, OTE Group,Muscat, Oman.
His next stop was Carnation Auto India, as general manager and project head-Magneti Marelli India and Carnation After market. Just over a year and a half into this role, he was appointed head-business development and sourcing, Aftermarket India. His stint at Magneti Marelli lasted well over seven years.
From 2019 to 2022, Puttanna worked with WABCO, as vice president-head of aftermarket and fleet solutions, India. WABCO was acquired by the ZF Group in 2020. By January of 2022, Ramachandra Puttanna had been elevated to vice president-aftermarket and fleet solutions, India and SAARC, ZF Grooup.
In his new role at Greaves Cotton, Puttanna will be responsible for driving the strategic growth plan for Greaves Retail’s electric vehicle (EV) components and new verticals. He will report to Narasimha Jayakumar, CEO, Greaves Retail, as Greaves continues to advance its strategy in sustainable mobility solutions across India.
