Vahan.ai—a company that leverages artificial intelligence (AI) to create meaningful solutions for millions of blue-collar workers across India—has found a new chief people officer in Kartik Rao.

Rao moves from The Good Glamm Group where his last designation was that of group chief people officer & senior vice president-founder initiatives.

Prior to Good Glamm, Rao was the chief people officer at Bewakoof.com, an apparel and fashion brand where he worked for almost two years.

Rao carries a great amount of experience working in the apparel and fashion industry, coupled with some fast growing startups. He has worked with companies such as Housing.com and Benetton Group.

Before joining Bewakoof.com, Rao was with Housing.com where he joined in 2015 as the head of talent acquisition and business partnering. In this role, he lead corporate hiring and business partnering and also defined cultures and new HR processes.

After a year at Housing.com, Rao was promoted as the head of people and culture. He lead all the key HR processes, such as talent management, hiring and people development.

It was in 2010 that Rao got an opportunity to hone his skills in HR, when he joined the Benetton Group, as an HR business partner. Within five years, he quickly climbed up the corporate ladder and rose to higher ranks. He saw three promotions at Benetton and served his last position as the deputy manager – HR, where he managed four different verticals of the Group. He managed the talent function for corporate, retail stores as well as factory employees at the Benetton Group.

His association with MyGlamm began in July of 2021, as chief people officer. Within three months he was elevated to chief people officer, Good Glamm Group. By April 2022 he had been made the group chief people officer.

April of 2024 saw him elevated to group CPO and senior vice president, founder initiatives.

Rao is a Delhi University graduate in business and commerce and has also completed a certificate course in organisational development and organisational psychology, from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences.

HRKatha wishes Kartik Rao all the best in his latest assignment at Vahan.ai!
