    Mphasis has announced the election of Jan Kathleen Hier, as chairperson of the Board. She is stepping into the shoes of Davinder Singh Brar, who has superannuated. Hier has been independent director of the IT solutions company that specialises in cloud and cognitive services, since December 2015.

    Hier was earlier a partner at a start-up and served as executive vice president, Charles Schwab, where she led centralised support services, including Schwab Technology Services, Operational Services, Corporate Project Management, Operational Risk Management, and Offshore Services. During her tenure at Schwab, she also held several senior leadership positions, including chief information officer, executive vice president of human resources, and head of electronic brokerage technology.

    Nitin Rakesh, CEO and managing director, Mphasis, who recognises and values Hier’s contributions to the Board for many years, admits that “her broad industry knowledge, long history of leadership, coupled with deep experience advising global clients, makes her an ideal person for this role.”
