After serving Gujarat Gas for over 21 years, Nitesh Bhandari will take up the role of CFO and joint president, Bajel Projects, with effect from May 2025.
An alumnus of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Bhandari began his career with GlaxoSmithKline, as associate manager, in June 1998. Four years later, he moved to Gujarat Gas.
He joined as manager-strategic planning in June 2002, based out of Ahmedabad. In this role, he was responsible for accurate and timely MIS and variance analysis to Executive Committee of the company and for Group consolidation. He looked into investment appraisals, readiness review processes, and project feasibilities.
In June 2006 he was elevated to general manager-finance. He was responsible for billing to 3.5 lakh customers generating total revenue of Rs 1000 million per month. He also handled the adherence to internal, statutory and group audit requirements. Less than five years later came another promotion. This time he was made general manager-corporate finance. Among other responsibilities, this role saw him handling accurate and timely accounting, periodic accounts finalisation and audit, as well as preparation of reports for Board and Audit committees. Risk management process and ensuring robust internal control through adherence of FCA processes were also his responsibility. By July of 2012, Nitesh Bhandari had reached the position of chief finance officer (CFO). For over 11 years, he successfully headed the finance and investor relations for the company.
At Bajel Projects, company in the business of power infrastructure, Bhandari will focus on the creation and implementation of the company’s financial strategy in line with its business goals.
