Zurich Kotak General Insurance has appointed Pankaj Verma as its new chief technology officer (CTO). Prior to this, Verma served as the CTO at Gallagher, a global insurance, risk management and consulting company. He joined the company in the year 2023.
In this new role at Zurich Kotak, Verma will spearhead the company’s technical operations, including underwriting, claims management, reinsurance and business development. His strategic leadership will be crucial for driving growth at Zurich Kotak and strengthening its position in the competitive insurance market.
Bringing over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, Verma has worked with many companies such as SBI General Insurance, Bharti AXA General Insurance, TATA AIG General Insurance and Reliance General Insurance.
Verma began his professional journey in 1991 with Oriental Insurance and stayed there for close to ten years as its AAO. In 2001, he joined the Royal & Sundaram Alliance as its team leader commercial claims for three years.
His longest stint was with SBI General Insurance, where he was associated with the company for 13 years. He joined the company in the year 2010 as its regional claims head-north. He held many key positions during his tenure there. In the year 2021, he was elevated to the role of head of underwriting before he moved to Gallagher in 2023.
Verma is known for his quick decision making and supportive personality. He completed a BA in Economics & Political Science from Delhi University.
