Over the next three years, Oracle, the global data management and cloud platform services firm plans to provide training to five lakh Indian youth and women. The training, under Project Vidya, will cover various digital technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), cybersecurity, Gen AI, data science, cloud computing and application development.
Earlier, Oracle had launched Project Vidya in partnership with the Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation (TNSDC), under the Naan Mudhalvan programme. Under this initiative, about 80,000 students have already received training and certification. Now Oracle wants to offer this programme on a national level, for which it is tying up with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), to train one lakh in various subjects including arts, science and engineering.
Oracle University, the training and enablement wing of Oracle, will be decreating the training modules, which will not only train the participants but also give them certificates in important digital skills so that they can bag suitable technology-driven jobs.
The modules of various durations will be offered digitally via Oracle MyLearn, which is Oracle University’s training platform.
The training aims to equip participants with skills that will make them employable in the future and actively contribute to the country’s skill ecosystem and growth.
Oracle is working to make this programme available to more youth and professionals across India. This will require active collaboration with the state governments and skilling organisations.
