Jalali’s predecessor, BL Narayan, has moved on as head of solutions & sales support for the company’s Business Services strategic business unit.

Anil Jalali, erstwhile executive director-HR, IBM India, has moved to Capgemini as head-HR for India operations. Jalali, who will be named chief human resource officer, Capgemini India, quit IBM in November, 2016. At IBM, he was heading HR for India and South Asia operations.

Jalali’s predecessor, BL Narayan, has moved on to a business role — as head of solutions & sales support — for Capgemini’s Business Services strategic business unit.

Capgemini employs more than 180,000 professionals across 40 countries, of which, 100,000 people are based out of India.

Srinivas Kandula, head of Capgemini India, says, “With the successful acquisition and integration of IGATE, India is pivotal to the Group’s transformation plans. Strategic talent management will play a crucial role in building organisational agility going forward.”

Even Kandula was EV-P, and chief people officer at IGate, a company acquired by Capgemini before taking on the role of CEO at Capgemini India.

Jalali comes with more than two decades of experience. He has handled a diverse portfolio, which includes talent management, leadership development, employee engagement, compensation & benefits (C&B), careers and recruitment. He has successfully led various companies during the period of transformational changes in a hyper-growth environment with multi-business complexity.

Jalali, a 95-batch passout from XLRI, began his career with the RPG group, where he stayed put for five years. There, he played a key role in setting up the HR function for a telecom JV of RPG-Vodafone, in addition to other assignments.

His next destination was Wipro, where he spent around seven years. Having joined as manager-HR in 2000, he rose up the levels to become head–compensation & benefits.

He joined IBM as director – total compensation, India and South Asia, in 2007, and had a decade-long stint with the company.
