Abhishek Maheshwari has taken up the role of chief executive officer, OneAssist Consumer Solutions. He was earlier senior advisor, private equity, at Blackstone.
Having completed a BTech in Electrical Engineering from IIT, Delhi, Abhishek Maheshwari went on to obtain an MBA in General Management from Columbia Business School in 2002.
He served as a senior associate with Atos Consulting Switzerland for two years, working out of Frankfurt Area, Germany. He then moved to Booz Allen Hamilton for a summer internship before joining McKinsey & Company as engagement manager. For five years he led strategy and operations engagements across hi-tech, telecommunications and industrial sectors for clients in India, US and Europe.
From 2007 to 2012 he was principal, partner, Kubera Partners working out of Mumbai and New York.
Maheshwari’s next stop was The Walt Disney Company, where he joined as vice president and head, corporate strategy and business development. Two years into this role he was elevated to vice president and head, consumer products, corporate strategy and business development, in 2014.
His next promotion made him vice president and head, Media Networks and Interactive in 2016. By the time he moved on from The Walt Disney Company, he had become country head.
Aakash Educational Services roped him in for the role of CEO in 2020. Three years later he switched to Blackstone as senior advisor, private equity.
Now, at OneAsssist, the consumer assistance platform, he will also be part of the board of directors. He will reportedly focus on speeding up the platform’s adoption of artificial intelligence (AI), to enhance customer experience, deliver AI-led products and services automation to offer faster, smarter and more relevant solutions for consumers.
