    Sanjay Chalke to be CEO of Capgemini in India

    Chalke is presently India COO and will assume CEO role starting 1 January, stepping into the shoes of Ashwin Yardi

    Capgemini has announced that Ashwin Yardi, CEO, Capgemini in India is retiring from the Group and will become non-executive Chairman of the Board of Capgemini in India. Sanjay Chalke, who is presently chief operating officer (COO), will step into his shoes as CEO, starting 1 January, 2026 and will join the Group Executive Committee.

    Sanjay Chalke has been with Capgemini for over nine years now. He had joined as vice president, delivery transformation in July of 2016. Two years into this role he was elevated to global head, automation, AI & analytics. In July of 2020 he was promoted to executive vice president, Sogeti India head. April of 2024 saw him being elevated to chief operating officer, Capgemini India.

    Before joining Capgemini, he worked with Computer Science Corporation (CSC) for over nine years. From 2000 to 2007 he was with Covansys as senior manager-PeopleSoft Practice. He was also associated with Siemens from 1995 to 2000 as executive-HR systems.

    Ashwin Yardi has been serving as the CEO of Capgemini Technology Services India and member of the Group Executive Committee since December 2018. Before this, he was COO of Capgemini in India and managed operations, delivery, capability development and innovation across India, from 2016 to 2018. From 2018 to 2021 he was also Capgemini Group industrialisation and intelligent automation leader. Between 2011 and 2015 he served as corporate vice president, offshore business unit leader for apps.

    His association with Capgemini Consulting India began in 2000, as senior manager, based out of New Jersey. He was elevated to director, Oracle practice leader in January of 2005 and relocated to Mumbai, India. He served as VP-offshore business unit leader for Europe South from 2007 to 2010.

    Yardi has also been associated with Ernst & Young and Pricewaterhouse Coopers in the initial years of his career.

    As non-executive chairman, Yardi will focus on nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and will support Chalke in this transition. Meanwhile, Chalke will continue to reinforce Capgemini in India as a strategic backbone for client delivery excellence, talent and innovation.

    Aiman Ezzat, chief executive officer, Capgemini Group, expressed his gratitude for Yardi’s “outstanding contributions throughout his 30-year career within the Group”. He also welcomed Chalke under whose leadership he looks “forward to accelerating our growth even further, deepening our impact, and continuing to strengthen India as a centre for innovation, technology and transformation. I look forward to working closely with both Ashwin and Sanjay.”
