    Skoda Auto Volkswagen India gets Karishhma Kumar as CIO

    Kumar has moved from Beiersdorf where she was IT service line head, India hub

    Skoda Auto Volkswagen India has appointed Karishhma Kumar as its new chief information officer (CIO).
    She was earlier with Beiersdorf as IT service line head, India hub.
    This alumna of KIT’s Institute of Management Education and Research from where she completed an MBA in Marketing and Systems, went on to study customer relationship management at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad.

    Karishhma Kumar began her career as a sales executive with DesignTech Systems in 2005 and then moved to Futurism Technologies as business development manager in 2006.
    Omnitech InfoSolutions appointed her as major account manager in November of 2007.

    May of 2008 saw her join Tata Motors as national key account manager (CVBU). Over two years into this role, she was elevated to deputy general manager-IT programmes, in August of 2010. From 2018 to 2022 she served as head-IT and digital initiatives, Tata Motors Insurance Broking and Advisory Services, based out of Mumbai.

    Kumar was associated with Otis Elevator Co. for over two and a half years. She joined as general manager-digital technology-India, in October of 2022. A year and a half into this role, she was elevated to director-digital technology.

    It was in July of 2025 that she moved to Beiersdorf, the skin care company to drive IT heartbeat strategy within Asia and emerging markets.

    Now, in her new role as CIO at Skoda Auto Volkswagen India, she will handle the enterprise’s IT strategy, digital transformation, and tech operations, and also ensure efficiency, innovation, and business-aligned solutions across functions.
