IndiGo group chief human resources officer Sukhjit S Pasricha has stepped down effective July 2026, marking the end of a nine-year association with India’s largest airline across two tenures.

Announcing the move on LinkedIn, Pasricha said it was “time to transition from ‘India by IndiGo’ to ‘Make in India’”, indicating a new role next month in a sector tied to the nation’s growth and manufacturing ambitions. He described his IndiGo journey as “incredibly fulfilling” and thanked colleagues for being part of it.

Pasricha’s second stint at IndiGo began in November 2022 as group CHRO, where he steered people strategy through fleet expansion, international growth, and post-Covid scale-up. He previously served as head of HR & admin from April 2013 to January 2018, building talent systems during the airline’s high-growth phase.

His 30-year HR career spans telecom, aviation, and BFSI—15 years in telecom, 9 in aviation, and 5 in BFSI. Between IndiGo roles, he was group CHRO at Kotak Mahindra Bank from May 2019 to November 2022 and chief of HR & admin at Bajaj Finance from January 2018 to May 2019.

A key international chapter came at Airtel Africa, where he was the senior VP – HR from July 2010 to March 2013, driving HR transformation across 17 countries and serving as HRBP for nine Anglophone markets. He also held CHRO roles for Airtel’s Enterprise Services and North Region Mobile Business from 2007 to 2010. His journey began with the Vardhman Group in 1995, followed by Spice Communications and early HR leadership roles at Airtel.

Calling people and culture the “strongest drivers of business success,” Pasricha stated that he looks forward to building future-ready organisations in his next chapter. For IndiGo, the exit comes as the carrier pushes deeper into global markets, placing renewed focus on who will shape its talent strategy next.

We at HRKatha wish him all the best for a new chapter!
