HCLTech has promoted Chandini Kamal to vice president, global head – people & culture. She will now drive the company’s global agenda for employee engagement, experience, wellness, rewards and recognition, and diversity and inclusion.
The move follows her tenure as global head of diversity, equity and inclusion, people & culture. In the previous role, she managed engagement experience, wellness, and rewards & recognition (R&R) functions across markets. This latest elevation reflects HCLTech’s focus on building an inclusive, high-performing workplace culture.
With more than 15 years at HCLTech, Chandini Kamal has held a series of progressively senior global HR roles. She joined the organisation in January 2011 as a global head – employee engagement – in Chennai and led the function for three years through December 2013. She then served as HR head – enabling functions from January 2014 to September 2016 before taking on the dual charge of HR head – enabling functions & global employee engagement lead for 10 months.
In August 2017, she was appointed as the global head–diversity & inclusion, employee engagement & experience, wellness, and rewards & recognition, a position she held for nine years. From October 2023, her portfolio expanded to global head – D&I, people & culture, covering engagement & experience, wellness and R&R for 2 years 10 months. She stepped into the role of VP, global head – people & culture, in April 2026.
Before HCLTech, Kamal gained cross-industry experience. She was the senior HR at Motorola from March 2008 to January 2011. She also served as HR manager at Office Tiger Database Systems and as corporate HR manager at RR Donnelley India Outsource from June 2004 to March 2008. She began her career as a senior executive – HR & admin at Cactus Imaging India from June 2002 to June 2004.
