In a bold move to diversify its workforce, Bharti AXA Life Insurance has significantly expanded its distribution network by hiring 1,000 new employees, 40 per cent of whom are women. This recruitment drive aims to bolster its front-line sales personnel, enhancing both the reach and effectiveness of its sales operations.
This strategic recruitment initiative aims to promote financial inclusion, enhance gender diversity and empower women within the insurance sector.
The company’s recruitment drive is designed to boost insurance awareness and extend coverage to underserved segments by creating a dedicated sales force. This approach not only addresses the need for more advisors but also underscores the importance of diversity in understanding and serving a broad customer base.
The insurance company is also investing in comprehensive learning and development programmes to equip all advisors with the necessary skills and knowledge to meet the diverse needs of their customers.
Nitin Mehta, chief distribution officer – partnership distribution and head of marketing, commented on the initiative, stating, “In line with our goal of ‘Insurance for All by 2047,’ the industry is proactively implementing strategic recruitment efforts to attract and retain talented women.”
Dhanashree Thakkar, head-HR, also added, “Empowering women in the insurance salesforce can bridge the gender gap within the industry and drive its future growth. By implementing strategic recruitment initiatives and nurturing talent, we aim to move beyond tokenism, create a genuinely inclusive work environment, and enable women to become key drivers of financial inclusion.”
