Tech Mahindra and BPUT tie up to train students on AI and coding

Tech Mahindra and the Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) have collaborated to set up a Centre of Excellence (COE) at the College of Engineering and Technology (CET). This Centre will train students in artificial intelligence (AI).

Technical students in Odisha will now be able to develop smart machines, thanks to the six to 12 month AI course being offered at the COE. The training will enable students and professionals to handle the AI-related issues that crop up in industries and various government organisations.

The students will be provided skill training on AI as well as coding, which will enable them to build smart machines that can perform all the tasks that would have otherwise required human intelligence.

Odisha lacks expertise in AI and coding. Therefore, in addition to the AI and coding course being offered at CET, courses imparting knowledge of Python, C and C++ to the students will also be offered. Similar training will be provided at other engineering colleges and polytechnics via the CISCO NetAcad programme. For instance, the Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT), is all set to offer courses on AI and machine learning under the TEQIP-III programme. Supercomputers have also been installed at VSSUT, CET, IGIT and Parala Maharaj College of Engineering, with assistance from C-DAC for high-speed computing and machine learning.
