Amazon India has unveiled a major health initiative aimed at supporting the well-being of over 80,000 of its delivery associates and partners across the country. The company will organise free medical camps at its last-mile delivery stations by the end of 2025, offering preventive healthcare services where they’re needed most—on the ground.
The programme, already launched in Tamil Nadu and the Delhi NCR region, brings essential health services to the doorstep of delivery workers. These camps are being set up in partnership with Marsh and Care Insurance and provide services such as eye and dental check-ups, BMI assessments, and consultations with general physicians. Associates simply need to show a government-issued ID to access the services.
According to Karuna Shankar Pande, VP-Amazon Logistics India, this initiative strengthens Amazon’s existing benefits, including group health and accident insurance, by adding direct access to preventive care. “Our delivery associates are at the heart of last-mile operations, and their health is a priority,” she said.
The next leg of the programme is focused on North Indian cities such as Delhi NCR, Gurugram, Noida, Jaipur, Lucknow, and Varanasi. Medical professionals at these camps not only conduct check-ups but also provide advice on staying hydrated and recognising heat exhaustion—especially important as summer temperatures soar in the region. For those needing further care, doctors at the camps offer prescriptions and referrals, guiding associates toward appropriate follow-up care.
This health initiative follows Amazon’s recent expansion of its Ashray rest centres—dedicated spaces at petrol pumps and commercial hubs offering delivery associates air-conditioned rest areas, clean water, washrooms, charging points, and first aid. These centres are open daily and provide up to 30 minutes of rest time per visit.
Amazon plans to expand the network to 100 centres by 2025.
