CARS24 launches industry-first compassionate policy to support employees

The move emphasises the company’s commitment to standing by its workforce during life's toughest challenges

CARS24, an Indian autotech platform, has announced the launch of a groundbreaking Compassionate Policy, setting a new standard for workplace care. The policy, aimed at ensuring employees—referred to as “autonauts”—feel secure during difficult times, marks a significant step in fostering a compassionate workplace culture at the company.

This industry-first initiative aims to provide financial, legal, and emotional support to employees facing personal crises. The move emphasises the company’s commitment to standing by its workforce during life’s toughest challenges.

The policy, available to all full-time employees, is designed to provide flexible support based on the nature and severity of each employee’s personal situation. It includes provisions for both grants and advances, tailored to suit individual needs, particularly for employees facing severe medical emergencies, personal hardships, or legal issues. Furthermore, the support is tailored to the individual’s specific circumstances, with financial assistance structured either as a grant for severe cases or an advance/EMI scheme for less-urgent needs.

For employees earning under Rs 15 lakh per year, the policy provides grants for severe cases such as medical emergencies, critical illnesses, or the death or disability of a loved one. Grants are also available to support childbirth, domestic-violence victims, victims of burglary or assault, and those seeking addiction recovery and pet emergencies.
For employees earning above Rs 15 lakh per year, or those dealing with less critical situations, the policy offers advances or flexible EMI payment options. This support extends to non-medical urgencies such as natural disaster repairs, legal fees, missed loan payments, and educational expenses for children.

Beyond financial assistance, CARS24 is also offering a wide array of additional support services. Employees facing domestic violence, harassment, or fraud will receive legal guidance, while those with medical concerns can access consultations for critical healthcare decisions. Emotional and psychological support is also available, with access to mental- health professionals to help employees manage grief, trauma, or workplace stress.

Relocation assistance is provided for those escaping domestic violence, ensuring both logistical and legal support. Additionally, employees seeking addiction recovery will have access to rehabilitation programmes and counselling services.

Vikram Chopra, CEO & founder, CARS24 highlighted that the company sees this policy as just the beginning of its journey toward building a truly compassionate organisation. “We hope this is a small step toward a long and meaningful journey in getting there,” he stated.

This initiative is part of CARS24’s broader effort to prioritise employee wellness, foster open conversations, and ensure that every employee feels heard and valued. By focusing on the people behind the work, CARS24 is building a workplace where employees can thrive without the fear of navigating tough times alone.
