A Reddit user had put in his resignation due to health issues after more than eight months of association. The user claims that although they had even received a promotion, the excessive workload and various health problems had made them decide to quit. The employee had been diagnosed with fatty liver and also came down with chicken pox, which made it difficult for them to work. On requesting leave, he was told to work from home, which was challenging for the said employee. That drove the employee to resign, but the company rejected the same and ordered the employee to continue working, ignoring their failing health.

The employee’s woes did not end there. The company proceeded to fire him and asked him for three months’ salary in return for an experience certificate.

As if that wasn’t enough, the employee was told that the company would tamper with their background verification (BGV) process. The employee seems to belong to Chennai as they are seeking a job in that area.

Last year too a Reddit user had complained of a boss not relieving them despite putting in their resignation. At the time, other users had asked valid questions such as whether they had received a sign-on bonus.

Employees are often required to pay back the sign-on bonus if they quit before a specified date. They also wanted to know if the user’s work contract mentioned a minimum work period in which case the employer had the right to not relieve them.
