Broadridge, a company that provides technology-driven solutions for the financial services industry, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Lovely Professional University (LPU) to bridge the gap between industry and academia. The objective of the collaboration is to equip students with real-world skills and practical exposure to be industry-ready.
As part of the initiative, Broadridge has introduced a structured Train the Trainer programme, where its SMEs will mentor LPU faculty to ensure effective knowledge transfer. The 80-90 hours’ programme that runs over 16-17 weeks includes live sessions every week. The sessions include real-time case studies, interactive workshops, assignments, and pre-shared course materials that faculty can review in advance. Key topics covered in this include product management, Agile and SaFe, DevOps & SRE, cloud & DevOps, and cybersecurity.
According to Sheenam Ohrie, managing director, Broadridge India, “Our collaboration with Lovely Professional University is a significant step in this direction, equipping students with real-world insights and hands-on experience in emerging technologies. By leveraging the expertise of our industry leaders, we aim to empower educators and, in turn, create a highly- skilled workforce. This partnership allows us to share our expertise and insights, ensuring that students are well prepared to excel in an evolving technological landscape.”
The two entities are working together to enhance the curriculum based on faculty feedback, incorporating specialised areas such as Infrastructure as Code, DevSecOps, and Cloud Performance Management, amongst others. This specialised curriculum provides students with in-depth knowledge of financial technology, combining hands-on case studies, industry workshops, and interactive Q&A sessions to equip them for real-world challenges.
According to Ashok Kumar Mittal, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and founder chancellor of LPU, “Through structured training of faculty by industry experts, the focus is on ensuring that students gain not just conceptual knowledge but contextual understanding. The vision is to develop future-ready graduates—technically skilled, adaptable, and purpose-driven professionals—equipped to thrive in a rapidly-evolving world.”
After completing the training, faculty members will receive Training Completion Certificates. They will then conduct a bootcamp in June and July 2025 to equip the 2026 graduating batch with industry-ready skills by August 2025. From 2027 onwards, these specialised topics will be incorporated into LPU’s BTech curriculum as four elective courses under an Open Minor programme, with students taking one course per semester from their fifth semester onward.
