A Memoradnum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by the Ministry of Labour & Employment and FoundIt (formerly Monster), the job portal, in a bid to offer more opportunities to the youth seeking jobs across India.
This partnership is expected to bring 10 lakh jobs a year on the National Career Service or NCS portal, including international opportunities, benefitting job seekers registered on the portal.
Job seekers registered on the NCS portal will gain access to vacancies not only within India but also in Southeast Asia and the Middle East, significantly broadening their employment prospects.
FoundIt will post job opportunities on the portal, connecting needy job seekers with employers across India, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia looking to hire in both the formal and informal sectors. Relevant job listings will be integrated into the NCS Portal via application programming interfaces or APIs for seamless access.
The portal will also cater to women and persons with disabilities (PwDs), and promote a fair and inclusive hiring process, ensuring equal job opportunities for underrepresented groups.
This partnership will give FoundIt access to a large and diverse pool of candidates from the NCS portal, including women and PwDs. The Ministry of Labour & Employment will facilitate database integration, helping FoundIt reach out to a broad talent base via a seamless technology interface, accessible both online and offline.
Union Minister of Labour & Employment and Youth Affairs & Sports, Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, in whose presence the agreement was signed, drew attention to the transformative role played by the NCS portal in bringing together job seekers and employment opportunities, not just within the country but outside.
According to him, “The NCS Portal has become a crucial gateway, connecting millions of job seekers with employers at the national and international levels. With the addition of 3,000 to 4,000 job postings daily, this MoU is expected to bring 1.25 lakh international vacancies and over 10 lakh domestic vacancies to NCS each year, significantly boosting employment prospects for Indian youth.”
Mandaviya acknowledged the NCS portal’s abilities as a job-generation platform saying, “With over 40 lakh employers registered, the portal has facilitated the mobilisation of more than 4.40 crore vacancies since its inception. At any given time, nearly 10 lakh job vacancies are available, ensuring a steady flow of opportunities for the youth.”
The NCS portal has been integrated with the e-Migrate platform, under which more than 500 active recruitment agencies or RAs registered with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) have been onboarded. “This initiative has opened doors for Indian professionals to secure jobs with credible, verified employers abroad,” said Mandaviya, going on to urge the youth of the country to register on the NCS portal and reap its benefits.
Additionally, the portal is integrated with My Bharat, SIDH portal which is narrowing the skill gap and making youth more employable.
Sumita Dawra, secretary, Ministry of Labour and Employment, took the opportunity to mention that countries such as “Germany, Finland, and nations across the Middle East are actively seeking skilled workers for both blue-collar and white-collar jobs.”
This partnership, according to her, “will enable NCS to facilitate these vacancies and enhance career prospects for Indian job seekers.”
V Suresh, CEO, FoundIt, appreciated “the government’s commitment to creating better career prospects”. He lauded the fact that the portal “connects millions of job seekers with opportunities in India and abroad.”
