The State Government Retired Employees Association held its state executive council meeting in Tirupati on Monday, 8 July. The association highlighted its commitment to addressing the challenges faced by retired employees and expressed it’s intention to work closely with the new government to secure their dues.
Key demands discussed during the meeting included immediate interim relief due to anticipated delays in implementing the 12th Pay Revision Commission (PRC). They also called for restoring additional quantum benefits reduced in the 11th PRC.
The association also advocated for a return to the previous method of 10 per cent additional quantum for those aged 70, and 15 per cent for those aged 75. The association also demanded reinstating death relief to one month’s pension, replacing the current provision of Rs 25,000.
The State Government Retired Employees Association typically serves as a platform for retired state government employees to address their common concerns and interests. It often focuses on advocating for pension benefits, healthcare provisions, and other rights relevant to retirees. These associations may also organise social activities, provide welfare services, and participate in community outreach.
