Daksh Gupta, CEO, Greptile, a US-based d artificial intelligence (AI) startup, has bagged headlines with his job offers. This youngster is looking for dedicate freshers who can put in 12 hours of work daily working in office. He is willing to pay them well—up to Rs 1.5 crore—provided they are prepared for the demanding schedule and do not seek work-from-home privileges.

Based in San Francisco, Greptile is offering freshers an opportunity to earn a basic salary in the range of Rs 1.23 – Rs 1.59 crore annually in addition to equity in the range of Rs 1.15 – Rs 1.59 crore. Professionals who come with over seven years of experience are being offered a basic pay of a minimum of Rs 2.12 crore and maximum of Rs 2.38 crore.

The job postings have drawn wide attention after his recent remarks to The San Francisco Standard, where he discussed Burning Man, a global cultural movement promoting creativity and connection, and explained his ‘9-9-6’ rule.

There is no option to work remotely, as in-office presence is a must. The work culture expects work-from-office six days a week, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Gupta has never tried to hide his support for long working hours. In his opinion, those who seek work-life balance and an easy work schedule have no place in his startup. He is looking for people who can dedicate themselves to the growth of Greptile. In addition to a lucrative package, Gupta is offering healthcare cover, contribution toward 401k, complimentary meals and transport facilities.

Gupta’s views have received support as well as criticism in equal measure.
