Air India SATS Airport Services (AISATS), an airport services-management company, has appointed Ramanathan Rajamani as its new chief executive officer, effective 14 November, 2024.

He joined SATS in 2011 as its assistant vice president. In this role, he was responsible for managing the ramp services for Singapore Airlines’ complex hub operations at Changi Airport.

Under his leadership, a SATS subsidiary was awarded Singapore’s prestigious National Productivity Award in 2016. His previous roles include director & CEO, AISATS (2018–2021), CEO, SATS Security Services in Singapore (2022-2024), and head-projects & new services delivery across the Asia-Pacific region (Mar 2024-Nov 2024).

Rajamani’s illustrious career began in 2001 as an engineer with the defence science and technology agency, where he was instrumental in ensuring the operational reliability of fighter jets for the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF). In 2006, he transitioned to Indeco Engineers, where he led several turnkey projects for commercial and military ground operations.

Rajamani holds a Bachelor of Engineering and a Master of Science in Logistics from the National University of Singapore. He has also completed an Executive MBA programme at Nanyang Technological University and the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

On his reappointment, Rajamani feels “deeply honoured to return to AISATS as CEO. India’s aviation and ground- handling sectors hold immense potential, and I am excited to lead AISATS in delivering innovative solutions, operational excellence, and exceptional service to our airline partners, passengers, and stakeholders.”
