    Ajoy Chawla will be MD of Titan

    Chawla has been with Titan for over three decades now

    Ajoy Chawla has been named the next managing director (MD) of Titan Company. He has been with Titan for 34 years now, having started off playing various roles in sales, channel management, commercial and demand planning from 1991 to 2002.

    In April 2002, he became retailing head. For the next three years or so, he managed and explanded the retail network for World of Titan (EBO).

    May of 2003 saw him elevated to business head, accessories & licensing, working out of Bengaluru area. In this role, he launched Fastrack sunglasses, Tommy Hilfiger Watches (Licensed brands), explored eyewear, leather accessories and other new categories. From 2005 to 2008, he was business head , Titan BSU.

    In April 2008, he was elevated to vice president and global business head –Titan & Retail. Five years into this role, he was promoted yet again, to chief strategy officer. For a year and nine months, he drove strategy for the company, including strategic alliances, inorganic growth opportunities, strategic planning process, and key initiatives for strengthening competitive advantage.

    January of 2015 saw him playing the role of senior vice president, business incurable and strategy. For the next over four years, he was busy exploring new businesses, incubating New Biz exploration, Indian special occasion dress wear category (Taneira), scaling up the Fragrances division (Skinn, Fastrack) and so on.

    By October 2019, Ajoy Chawla had reached the position of CEO, jewellery division.

    An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, Ajoy Chawla has also completed a leadership and advanced management programme from Harvard Business School.

    Chawla will be stepping into the shoes of CK Venkataraman, who will superannuate on 31 December 2025. Chawla’s tenure as MD will begin from 1 January 2026.
