BigBasket, a Tata Enterprise, has appointed Manish Bajoria as its new chief financial officer (CFO). Bajoria moves from Vini Cosmetics where he was executive director and chief financial officer for two and a half years.
A commerce graduate from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata, Manish Bajoria is also a chartered accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
Bajoria began his professional journey as an audit assistant with Lodha & Co., where he interned for over three years, from 2001 to 2004.
His first full-time job was with Tata Steel and Tata Sons, as manager- financial accounts. Two years later, he moved to Hindustan Unilever (HUL), in September of 2006.
He joined as a treasury dealer and spent three years helping set up a Global Treasury Centre for Hindustan Lever in India and migrate treasury operations of 35 countries into India. This role required him to set up the infrastructure, hire a team and build processes from scratch.
August of 2009 saw him elevated to regional finance manager, working out of Chennai for the South branch of HUL. Another promotion made him category commercial manager in July 2011. He was responsible for the Hair business of South Asia, working out of Mumbai for over two and a half years. By June of 2013 he was heading exports finance for HUL.
After a seven-year long tenure with HUL, Manish Bajoria moved to Amazon as senior finance manager, in 2014. He spent the next two years helping set up and start the Amazon Fashion business and also leading the finance function for Junglee.com, based out of Bengaluru. He was promoted to director, finance, Amazon Pay and Advertisement, in August 2016.
Bajoria then tried his hand at entrepreneurship and consulting for a short while before joining Vini Cosmetics in December 2022, as executive director and CFO.
Now, in his new role at bigbasket, Bajoria will oversee all aspects of this online supermarket’s finance function and play a key role in shaping its financial strategy as it enters its next phase of development and innovation.
He brings to the table over 20 years of experience in strategic finance, commercial management, and digital transformation across diverse sectors.
