    Biju Raj is COO & head of strategy, India, Broadridge

    Broadridge, a company that provides technology-driven solutions for the financial services industry, has chosen Biju Raj for the role of chief operating officer (COO) & head of strategy in India. This assignment will see him strengthening executional capabilities and accelerating strategic growth across Broadridge’s operations in India.

    An alumnus of Cochin University of Science and Technology and the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, Biju Raj comes with over 27 years of experience.

    He began his professional journey as a software engineer with DSQ Software, in 1998, working out of Chennai. Less than two years later, he moved to SAP in the year 200. He was into project development- SAP customer development for about four years before being elevated to programme manager-SAP SCM hub, in 2004. In 2008, he became programme director, SAP custom development. Another promotion in 2010 put him in the chair of head of customer project engagement, SAP CD. By the time he moved on from SAP, he had reached the position of head of SAP custom development delivery-Asia Pacific Japan.

    August of 2012 saw him taking up the role of chief information officer-enterprise IT-automotive, Al Futtaim working out of Dubai. From 2014 to 2017, he was founder and managing director of Enterprise Solutions 360. Three years later, in May of 2017 he moved to Shell, as capability centre manager. Within a year he was elevated to programme director-retail IDT, and by 2020 he had become information and technology delivery manager. In his last role at Shell as information and digital manager, he led the company’s largest B2B

    digital transformation programme, aligning strategic execution with the energy transition goals of achieving Net Zero Emissions by 2050.

    Now, at Broadridge, Biju Raj will be responsible for translating Broadridge’s strategic vision into actionable operational plans, ensuring alignment with the company’s long-term objectives. He will oversee day-to-day operations and lead market analysis to identify growth opportunities. He will also foster strategic collaboration with ecosystem stakeholders, support sustainable revenue and lead expansion initiatives for Broadridge India.

    Sheenam Ohrie, managing director, Broadridge India is confident that Raj’s “deep cross-industry expertise and ability to lead transformative initiatives will be instrumental in unlocking new levels of operational excellence, innovation, and business value”.

    Biju Raj’s goal in his new position is to “to help Broadridge continue to scale its impact globally, drive long-term value for clients, and lead with purpose in a rapidly evolving financial landscape”.
