Condé Nast, the global mass media company has appointed Cheryl Kaba as its new chief diversity and inclusion officer, with effect from 2025.
Kaba, an alumna of Columbia University, began her career journey as senior associate, Thomson Reuters, in 2004. Over three years into this role, she moved to JP Morgan as summer associate.
It was in 2009 that her association with American Express began. She joined as manager, product strategy and analysis. In May 2012 she was promoted to senior manager, business transformation. Less than two years later, she was promoted to senior manager, merchant services. In January 2017, she was elevated to director-chief of staff. From March 2019 to November 2020, she served as director, global inclusions and diversity.
In December 2020 she joined Morgan Stanely as executive director, diversity and inclusion. She has been essaying this role for four years now.
In her new role, beginning next year, Kaba will lead Condé Nast’s diversity strategy across its global portfolio comprising more than 20 brands in 12 countries. She will help hire, develop and sponsor a new generation of diverse talent. She will collaborate with various brand teams to “reflect Condé Nast’s commitments throughout the company’s content and also with the company’s executive leadership team to drive initiatives, training and programmes that further this vision”.
