After a successful nine-year long tenure at Havells India, Sanjeev Bakshi has moved to Orient Electric (OEL) as head-industrial relations and employee relations (IR & ER). He was senior general manager, Havells, and had been working out of Alwar, Rajasthan, since September of 2015.
Bakshi’s new role at Orient Electric will see him handling the HR and IR aspects of all manufacturing facilities of the Indian multinational electrical-equipment company, across India. His responsibility will be significant given the fact that Orient Electric is part of the CK Birla Group, which has 35,000 employees across 52 manufacturing facilities, worldwide.
An alumnus of Ranchi University from where he graduated in commerce, in 1991, Sanjeev Bakshi also holds an MBA (in human resource management and personnel administration) from Sikkim Manipal University.
Orient Electric or OEL has established its name in the consumer electrical space having been active in it for almost 70 years now. It offers a diverse portfolio of fans, lighting, home appliances, switches, and switchgear. Its operations span more than 30 countries and it is amongst the leading exporters of fans in India.
In December 2022, OEL had become one of the select few Indian companies, such as Zomato, Swiggy, Culture Magazine and Magzter to introduce period leaves for the women in its workforce. Known to uphold its commitment to women’s health, safety and equal representation at the workplace, OEL conducts regular organisation-wide sessions to raise awareness and understanding of bias and its impact.
