Honasa Consumer, the personal care and beauty brand house—known for popular brands such as Mamaearth, The Derma Co., Aqualogica, Bblunt, Dr. Sheth’s, and Staze Beauty—has announced the elevation of two key leaders within its organisation. While Karan Bajwa, who was serving as senior vice president–human resources till now, has been promoted to the role of chief human resources Officer (CHRO), Avinash Dhagat, who served as senior vice president-supply chain, has been elevated to chief supply chain officer (CSCO).

An alumnus of Punjab University and the Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource Development, Karan Bajwa began his professional journey as a humble intern at L’Oreal in 2012. He joined Reckitt soon after, as part of the RB leadership programme and was elevated to assistant manager within a year.

In 2015 began his long association with Airtel. He joined as manager-talent management and development and was soon elevated to national HR business partner-sales and distribution. Two years into this role, he was promoted to DGM-total rewards, in 2018. Another promotion ten months saw him heading total rewards. By January 2021, he became head-HR shared services, technology and employee experience.

Since April of 2021, he has been with Honasa Consumer.

In his new role as CHRO, Bajwa will lead the next phase of Honasa’s people strategy, focused on building a future-ready, high-performing organisation anchored in diversity, inclusion and meritocracy.

Avinash Dhagat is an alumnus of the National Institute of Technology, Warangal and holds an MBA from SP Jain School of Global Management.

In the initial years of his career, he has worked with Ashok Leyland as deputy manager, marketing field services, from 2006 to 2008. He then served Supermax as assistant operations manager (SCM), for about a year and a half before joining L’Oreal as regional customer service manager, in 2011.

Dhagat was elevated to AGM demand and supply planning, in November 2012. Over four years into this role came another promotion that made him head of customer care (consumer division). From 2018 to 2021, he headed supply chain (consumer division). After a successful decade with L’Oreal, Avinash Dhagat joined Honasa Consumer as senior vice president-supply chain, in April 2021.

Given his rich experience in building agile and tech-enabled supply chains, he will continue to strengthen Honasa’s supply chain backbone. His focus will be on enhancing efficiency, driving sustainability, and ensuring the supply chain is well equipped to respond to the dynamic needs of the evolving Indian FMCG landscape.

According to Varun Alagh, co-founder and CEO, Honasa Consumer, the leadership of Bajwa and Dhagat “will be crucial in creating an agile, purpose-led, and innovation-driven organization. These elevations reflect our belief in nurturing homegrown leadership that deeply understands our values and vision.”

Excited to take on the new role, Karan Bajwa, CHRO, Honasa Consumer aims to “continue building an organisation where innovation thrives, diversity is celebrated, and growth is a shared journey.”

Avinash Dhagat, CSCO, Honasa Consumer is keen to “continue building a robust, tech-driven, and sustainable supply chain that’s aligned with the evolving needs of today’s conscious consumer.”
