IDfy, a global identity- verification platform, has roped in Malcolm Gomes as its new chief operating officer (COO). In this new role, Gomes will lead IDfy’s trust and privacy platform, ‘Privy’, drive industry-specific propositions, and oversee global operations. He will also play a key part in advancing the company’s goal—to eliminate fraud and build trust in the digital economy.
Working closely with IDfy’s senior leadership, Gomes will focus on strengthening customer relationships and expanding the reach of IDfy’s trust-based solutions. His aim will be to scale products that ensure trust and security across the transaction ecosystem, benefiting both new and existing clients.
Prior to this, Gomes was a partner at McKinsey & Company, where he spent 17 years advising financial services clients across India, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. He joined the company in 2008 as its junior associate. Gomes brings nearly 20 years of experience in strategy, operations, and business leadership.
His expertise lies in digital transformation, AI-led service models, customer experience enhancement, and launching new businesses in emerging markets.
Ashok Hariharan, CEO, IDfy, believes, “Malcolm’s strong background in strategy and transformation across global markets aligns well with IDfy’s vision.” Hariharan looks forward to working with Gomes “as we raise the bar for innovation in the trust space.”
Gomes also shared his thoughts on joining IDfy, “Trust is the backbone of today’s fast-paced, high-volume transaction world. As businesses and people become more formalised, and interactions grow across platforms—from AI chatbots to doorstep deliveries—the need for trust becomes even more critical. I’m excited about the opportunity to contribute to IDfy’s mission and help shape trust-focused solutions that truly make a difference for clients.”
Gomes holds a postgraduate diploma in management from IIM Lucknow and has successfully driven results for both industry giants and new-age companies.
