IIFL Finance, an Indian non-banking financial company (NBFCs), has announced the appointment off Preeti Kannan as its new president and chief human resources officer (CHRO). Kannan comes with a wealth of experience of over two decades in human resources.
Prior to this, Kannan served as the EVP-HR at Kotak Mahindra Bank. She joined the company in the year 2020 and looked after its retail asset, corporate functions, technology and people engagement.
She has also held senior positions at Bajaj Finance, Fujitsu Consulting, Oracle Financial Services, Mindtree, and Symbiosis College.
Kannan is a recognised HR leader known for her strategic approach in aligning people initiatives with business goals. She is a certified coach and psychotherapist, passionate about leveraging technology to unlock employee potential and drive organisational success.
Welcoming the new appointment, R. Venkataraman, joint managing director, IIFL Finance, said, “Our focus on people strategy and fostering an ‘ownership mindset’ has been key to our success. Preeti’s vast experience and leadership across various industries will be instrumental in driving our talent management and succession planning, guiding us toward our next phase of growth.”
In her new role, Kannan expressed her enthusiasm for leading IIFL’s digital transformation, stating, “I am excited to join IIFL and look forward to fostering a culture of agility and innovation. Through robust succession planning and embracing change, we aim to empower our teams and continue meeting the evolving needs of our customers with confidence.”
Kannan holds an MBA in HR from Pune University and a master’s degree in Psychotherapy and Counselling from Mumbai University.
