The Adani Group has appointed Jayant Kumar as the Jt president-HR after he quit as chief human resource officer (CHRO) at Tata Power.
Kumar had been with Tata Powers for more than five years — earlier as chief of business HR for over three and a half years and then as CHRO for almost two and a half years.
Before joining Tata Power, Kumar served as executive vice president-HR at Marico for over a year. He has also served as VP-HR with Tata Teleservices. He worked in the talent management domain for less than a year during a short stint as GM-HR, with Reliance Communications.
He has vast experience in the power sector, having spent 11 years as manager-HR at NTPC and then a year with North Delhi Power as head-ER.
With a degree in personnel management from the Xavier Institute of Social Sciences (XISS), he studied law from the Mumbai University and completed a PhD in talent management too.
It is reported that Kumar is stepping into the shoes of Krishnamohan Rao, who will be taking on the role of HR head, Adani Transmission, and will be reporting to the CEO, Anil Sardana.
