After a successful tenure of over five years with IL&FS, Joy Banerjee has joined Central Depository Services (CDSL) as head-human resources and administration.
Backed by over three decades of experience in various facets of HR operations, Joy Banerjee has gained expertise in new business development, customer relationship management, business excellence, strategy, learning and development, employee engagement and performance management.
An alumnus of XLRI Jamshedpur, Banerjee began his professional journey as an office executive with LIC, in 1993. Almost a decade later, after working across various departments of the insurance business, he moved to Max New York Life Insurance as assistant manager-TL, in 2002.
His next stop was Aviva Life Insurance as area training manager for just over a year. From September 2006 to January 2007, he played national training manager, Reliance Life Insurance.
January of 2007 saw him joining Tata AIA Life Insurance, as head-training, business excellence and direct marketing. This stint lasted for almost five years.
He took on the position of general manager-human resources, Blue Dart DHL Courier, in October 2011.
Liberty Mutual Insurance offered him the role of regional lead-human resources, in June of 2017. Two and a half years later, he was appointed general manager-human resources, Liberty General Insurance. Five years into this role, he was promoted to senior vice president-human resources, in August 2017.
It was in December 2019 that Joy Banerjee joined IL&FS as head-human resources. A year later, he was elevated to group head-human resources.
In this new assignment, Joy Banerjee will head the HR and administration function taking care of employee engagement, talent management, talent development, culture building and alignment to business goals.
