After a successful seven-year long association with Tata Advanced Systems, Kapil Mahajan has moved to Aequs—a manufacturing platform providing fully vertically-integrated, precision-manufacturing ecosystems for the aerospace and consumer sectors—as senior vice president and chief human resources officer.
An alumnus of XLRI Jamshedpur, Kapil Mahajan is backed by over two decades of experience. From 2000 to 2006, he was division manager, Pfizer, working out of Delhi. He then moved to Tata Teleservices, as additional manager-human resources, based out of Chandigarh.
Mahajan’s next stop was Aditya Birla Retail, where he joined as human resources manager, in February of 2008. For over two years he handled recruitment and selection, employee engagement, employee relations and grievance handling among other responsibilities.
He headed to Reliance Communications in July of 2010, to play head of human resources. There, he looked after talent management, leadership development, performance management system, as well as learning and development for over two years.
October of 2014 was witness to Kapil Mahajan relocating to Kolkata, to play location HR head, Tata Tele Business Services for over three years.
His association with the Tatas continued when he took up the role of head-business human resources, Tata Advanced Systems, in February 2018. A couple of years into this role he was elevated to business leader.
Now, with his latest appointment as SVP & CHRO, Kapil Mahajan will lead the human resources function for all business divisions at the organisation. He will help strengthen Aequs’ people strategy and accelerate the development of a high-performance, future-ready organisational culture. His deep expertise in HR transformation and leadership development will be instrumental in driving growth and aligning talent with Aequs’ strategic goals.
He has been able to inspire and introduce the best practices in culture, talent transformation, capacity utilisation, and employee experiences in greenfield ventures, elevating employer-employee relations to new levels. He has mentored and coached many young leaders during his rich career.
A certified coach and an active contributor to HR thought leadership, with strong interests in D&I, talent density, AI and mentorship, his belief in human possibilities and leveraging talent through technology to build a trust-driven culture will be an asset to Aequs.
